Literacy Festival

Early literacy is the foundation for all children's learning. Supporting the literacy development of all children is one of our primary goals. Since 2001, Connections For Children has presented Raising Readers - A Literacy Festival. This event is for young children and their families and focuses on the importance of ensuring that all our children love to read. This free, family festival is sponsored by Santa Monica College in collaboration with the Association for the Education of Young Children/North Bay Chapter.
The festival focuses on children's language and literacy development and is free and open to the public.

Come and enjoy . . .

Storytellers, theater groups, and musicians as they emphasize the joy that reading brings. Children will explore a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, emphasizing the theme of literacy.

Raising Readers - A Literacy Festival is one of the few family events planned especially for young children from preschool age through the primary grades. Each year this hallmark event attracts over 1,200 young children, their families, and caregivers.
